An estate sale is a sale of the personal possessions of an individual or family. Estate sales usually occur after a death, divorce, or downsizing and typically include items such as furniture, antiques, collectibles, jewelry, and household items.
Hiring Heart of Dixie Estate Sales for your estate sale ensures that the process is handled professionally and efficiently. Our experienced team will handle all aspects of the sale, from organizing and pricing items to advertising and managing the sale. We also provide cleanup services after the sale.
The time it takes to organize an estate sale depends on the size and complexity of the estate. However, Heart of Dixie Estate Sales can typically organize and conduct a sale within 2-4 weeks of initial contact.
Calling us as soon as you feel that you have a need for our services is great! Often times, we have sales booked out for several weeks in advance, so calling us as soon as you feel you are ready to move forward with an estate sale is best.
Typically, the estate sale process takes less than a month from start to finish, depending on how many sales we already have booked for the month. Our goal is to book your sale, get it organized, and host your sale as quickly as possible.
Every estate is different and can drastically vary in size. The only way that we can answer this question is to talk with you and to take a look at the estate. Give us a call today to discuss your particular situation!
There is absolutely no up-front cost for an estate sale with us. Even the consultation is free! We charge a percentage of total sales and deduct that from the sale proceeds at the end.
During setup we will move around furniture and setup tables for display purposes. We will empty all attics, basements, cabinets and drawers. We will wash all glassware and linens and begin setting everything up for pricing. After all items are out, clean, and displayed we will begin to price each item. All items are priced at our estate sales to eliminate any confusion.
Throughout the setup process, we often find personal items, such as social security cards, old mail and bills, etc. These are items are put into a folder and given back to the family for safekeeping.
We only have one requirement before our team arrives to prepare for the sale, and that is that all items that the family is wanting to keep be taken off the property or locked away. It's best if these items are removed before the initial consultation so that we can get an accurate idea of what the sale can bring without those items included.
At least a week before each sale, our team will take photos and videos of the entire estate. We will then use all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube) to spread the word of the upcoming sale with walkthrough videos and photos. We also use Estatesales.net which reaches approximately 750,000 buyers every month!
We also have compiled a customer base and utilize email and text message marketing for each and every sale. On top of all of these digital methods, we also use multiple road signs leading customers from all major/high traffic road to our sale.
All of our estate sales run for three days. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Our goal is to liquidate all of the assets of the home for the maximum amount of money possible for our clients. However, even with the greatest of sales, there is always a certain amount of items leftover. These leftover items can be sold to a cleanout crew, donated, or other arrangements can be made by the family. Most clients choose for a cleanout crew to come in and take out the remaining items.
